Kieninger & Obergfell (pronounced Keen-ing-ger oond O-berg-fel, or Koon-doe for short) was a very popular and successful German clockmaker. They began manufacturing anniversary clocks in the early 1930’s. In 1932, Kundo developed the first pendulum guide cup to help prevent the pendulum from shattering the glass dome if the clock was tipped at an angle. They were the first to produce miniature clocks in 1952, with midget clocks appearing in 1960. Kundo perfected their unique pendulum locking device in 1954. They continued making wind up anniversary clocks into the mid to late 1970’s.
